Video Analytics

Advanced analytics of operative video is at the core of every project in SaberLab. In the future we will leverage computer vision and machine learning to analyze surgical video and automate the assessment of technical, tactical and procedural performance. To get there, lab members currently spend a lot of time annotating surgical footage, detecting key actions and integrating video data with sensor streams to build a multimodal understanding of surgical flow. Our aim is to democratize surgical video analysis and enable objective, scalable performance feedback, helping teams reflect on and improve surgical technique, and non-technical skills such as leadership, coordination, and situation awareness.
